Dear Friend,

They Held Him at Gunpoint. He Refused to Leave.

In Sudan, the Islamist militia had already set Amir’s church on fire. Now, they were hunting down Christians house by house—looting, burning, destroying. Amir (pictured above) stood face-to-face with armed men who wanted him dead.

His response? "I'm not leaving until every believer is safe."

And that’s exactly what he did. When finally fled to Egypt with his pregnant wife and children, he had nothing. No home. No income. No way to feed his family.

Just his faith in Jesus—the faith that cost him everything.

Amir's story is one of tens of thousands. Each year, waves of persecuted Christian converts are driven of their homes out by death threats, physical abuse, and destroyed livelihoods.

But Here's the Other Side of the Story:

The global church is reaching out…so that no persecuted Christian ever walks alone.

Help The Persecuted has native Field Ministers on the ground in 15 countries across the Islamic World. We work to rescue, restore, and rebuild lives—so that the persecuted church can not only endure, but flourish and multiply.

From Refugee to Business Owner

Back to Amir: When Christians lose everything, one of their biggest needs is a stable income. However, when employers discover their faith—they are often excluded from any opportunities.

That’s why Help The Persecuted created our Enduring Livelihood Ministry—helping persecuted Christians establish their own businesses. Our specialized Field Ministers work one-on-one with persecuted believers to:

→ Identify their God-given talents and experience
→ Study local market opportunities
→ Create sustainable business plans
→ Provide seed funding to launch thriving enterprises

Through this ministry, our Field Ministers met with Amir and worked with him to create a business plan for a tuktuk taxi service!

Today, he operates a thriving taxi service in crowded neighborhoods in Egypt. His children attend school, his family eats well, and painted across his tuktuk are the words:

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
Amir isn't alone. The impact of our Enduring Livelihood Ministry is measurable. Since 2018, there have been…

  • 415 businesses launched
  • 2,308 lives transformed
  • 78% businesses are still operating after year one
  • Salaries can be up to 80% higher than national averages
  • Every dollar invested in the Enduring Livelihood Ministry leads to $2.20 of income for a persecuted Christian

This is dignity. This is independence!

  • When lives are threatened, we rescue them.
  • When hearts are broken, we restore them.
  • When livelihoods are lost, we rebuild them.

But we can't do it without faithful partners like you.

They Sacrificed Everything for Jesus. And today, you can stand with them—with double the impact!

Amir refused to deny Christ—even at gunpoint.

Your generosity writes more stories like these.

Because when you invest in enduring livelihoods, you don't just help someone pay bills. You restore dignity to believers who've sacrificed everything. You keep the light of Christ burning in hostile lands.

Until the end of the year, your impact can be DOUBLED through our $750,000 Matching Challenge. Every gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar...working to Rescue, Rescue, and Rebuild lives across the Islamic World.
Transform a Life—With Double the Impact
Thank you for your faithful generosity!
