Low Float (NYSE American: SER) Looks To Turn Good Molecules Into Great Medicines

September 9th

Greetings, Friend!

In late July, Serina Therapeutics, Inc. (NYSE American: SER) announced that it had wrapped up something early.

All eight patients in Cohort 1 of its Phase 1b registrational study of SER-252 were enrolled and dosed, ahead of guidance that had pointed to the end of the third quarter.

Small biotechs miss dates. This one beat one. That is the story in two sentences, and it explains why the technical picture may have flipped.

The Barchart website points to key technical indicators flashing bullish signals.

In fact, at close on Tuesday 11 of 13 indicators triggered.

“Trend Seeker”, the platform's composite signal, has turned positive at maximum strength.

Here is the piece most screens miss.

The float is small. Yahoo Finance puts the public float at roughly 11.15Mn shares. A low float name carries the potential for heightened volatility in both directions, and that potential is significant here.

No big-pharma budget behind this. Sixteen employees. Huntsville, Alabama. One polymer platform, one lead drug, and a trial the FDA has already agreed can count toward a filing.

Key Company Details: Serina Therapeutics, Inc.

Strip out the chemistry and the pitch is plain. Apomorphine works in advanced Parkinson's. Delivering it steadily is the problem.

The POZ Platform attaches the drug to a polyoxazoline polymer engineered to release it along a near-linear curve.

Serina calls the process POZylation.

The goal is continuous dopaminergic coverage from a single or twice-weekly subcutaneous injection, delivered through Enable Injections' enFuse wearable, replacing the peaks and crashes advanced patients live with today.

Agency feedback in August 2025 supported running the study under the 505(b)(2) NDA pathway.

That matters more than it sounds. It means SER-252 can build on what is already known about apomorphine instead of starting from a blank page.

Behind the lead candidate: SER-270 for tardive dyskinesia, SER-214 for early Parkinson's, and POZ-lipids aimed squarely at the PEG immunogenicity problem inside lipid nanoparticles.

Behind The Curtain

Rewind to early July.

Serina had just completed sentinel dosing in Cohort 1. An independent Safety Monitoring Committee reviewed 72 hours of data and recommended dosing continue.

Serina CEO, Steve Ledger, called it “an important early operational milestone.” Two weeks later the cohort was full.

Read the sequence, not the adjectives. Sentinel dosing, committee review, full cohort, all inside a single month, across sites in the United States and Australia, with South Korea and Taiwan planned.

The Shift: From Financing To Read-Out

March is when the money showed up. Serina secured up to $30Mn at $2.25 per share, a 68% premium to the prior close, with warrants struck at $5.00. Premium-priced raises are rare at this size.

Greg Bailey, M.D., led it and took a Co-Chairman seat. His prior work includes Biohaven and Medivation, both later acquired by Pfizer.

June brought Gannet BioChem, a contract developer with more than 30 years in activated polymers, onto the SER-252 program. July brought Farrell Simon, Pharm.D., a commercial executive with Pfizer and Trevi Therapeutics behind her, onto the board.

Money, then manufacturing, then commercial expertise. That is a company arranging itself for something. None of it proves the drug works. All of it means the company will be ready to answer the next question when the data arrives.

(NYSE American: SER) Hits Our Radar With 6 Key Potential Catalysts

#1. Cohort 1 Cleared Early, Escalation Decision Now Pending. A blinded safety review determines the next dose level, and SER has targeted the single-ascending-dose read-out for the first half of 2027.

#2. Eleven Of Thirteen Barchart Studies Currently Reading Bullish. Barchart.com's Opinion page reported 11 of 13 technical indicators it tracks to be triggered at close on Tuesday. This includes the website’s composite “Trend Seeker” indicator.

#3. Fewer Than 12Mn Shares Sit In The Public Float. With approx. 11.15Mn shares in its float, SER screens as a low float idea, meaning the potential for heightened volatility may be significant.

#4. An Agency-Backed 505(b)(2) Path Instead Of A Blank Slate. Written feedback supports the registrational design, letting SER file on established apomorphine knowledge rather than reconstructing it.

#5. Cash Of $23.0Mn Against A Defined Milestone Calendar. Reported on June 30th, that balance funds the protocol checkpoints SER has already laid out in public.

#6. Two Published Targets Sit Multiples Above The Current Tape. BTIG opened an $8.00 target and Jones Trading has pinned an $11.00 target on SER. Both of these targets represent a potential triple-digit upside for SER from Tuesday’s close.

In Closing

Nothing here is settled. Serina Therapeutics, Inc. (NYSE American: SER) is clinical-stage, and a Phase 1b read-out is the kind of event that resolves one way or the other.

But the pattern this year is hard to argue with...

Guidance set, guidance beaten. A safety committee that keeps saying continue. A manufacturer signed. A board strengthened. A financing done at a premium instead of a discount.

Next up is a dose-escalation decision. After that, four more cohorts and a first-half-2027 read-out.

Consider putting SER on the list and watch the calendar, not the chatter.
