August 31st

Greetings, Friend!

It started with a board vote.

On July 21st, 2026, the board of directors of a small Irvine, California component maker unanimously approved something closer to a change of identity than a product plan.

They called it the National Security Matters Initiative and pointed the business at four arenas at once, from critical resources to digital infrastructure.

For a firm known for filtering interference out of aircraft wiring, that was a wide turn.

Six days later the turn got a name.

On July 27th, the board approved renaming the company NSM Labs, Inc., subject to shareholder approval.

MOBX Executive Chairman James Peterson put it plainly: “National Security Matters. We are building a focused American technology platform around the systems, resources and infrastructure essential to the security of the United States and its allies.”

Following the July 21st vote, deals started to appear.

On July 24th, the company signed a definitive agreement to acquire Vision Aerial, Inc., a Montana builder of NDAA-compliant unmanned aircraft already serving the U.S. Air Force and Navy.

On August 13th it signed another definitive agreement to acquire Special Project Delivery, Inc., a Newport Beach platform holding critical minerals and rare earth positions, energy projects, and Western U.S. water resilience work.

The core business kept moving.

On August 17th, management guided fiscal fourth-quarter revenue to $1.4Mn to $1.8Mn, roughly 100% sequential growth at the midpoint.

About The Company: Mobix Labs, Inc. (Nasdaq: MOBX)

Mobix Labs, Inc. builds the unglamorous parts that keep hard electronics working: EMI filtering inserts, modules and filtered connectors, millimeter-wave RF modules and imaging systems, and optical and cable assemblies, sold through its EMI Solutions and RaGE Systems divisions.

Revenue comes from shipments into programs with long qualification cycles, including the F-22 Raptor, M1 Abrams and Javelin, MRI machines, Boeing and Airbus airframes, and wireless infrastructure.

April showed what that looks like.

Two F-22 subcontractors raised filtered-connector orders roughly 5X, and a $3.2Mn order for TSA body-scanner components pushed that program past $6Mn.

The finances remain early-stage: fiscal 2025 revenue of $9.91Mn against $6.44Mn in 2024, growth that company CEO Phil Sansone called “a breakout year.”

Behind the Scenes: The Call That Explained the Turn

The company scheduled a strategic update call on August 6th, and on August 13th, MOBX CEO, Phil Sansone walked through the repositioning.

Peterson had already set the logic in July: “National security and economic security have become inseparable.

On the rare earths deal he was blunter: “The control and development of strategic domestic mineral rights is fundamental to America’s long-term industrial strength and security.”

Sansone supplied the discipline half, saying the wider strategy keeps the company “disciplined in capital allocation and focused on building long-term shareholder value.

That gap, per Grand View Research, is the chart below:

The supply gap the Special Project Delivery deal targets.

The Pivot: One Company, Four Pillars

The structure underneath makes the repositioning legible.

Rather than one acquisition, the NSM Initiative is a framework for judging acquisitions, partnerships and organic growth across four defined pillars, with the existing EMI and RF business sitting inside one of them.

The drone pillar is the most measurable. Vision Aerial has built NDAA-compliant aircraft since 2013 for defense, public safety, wildfire response and infrastructure inspection.

Sansone said it brings “U.S.-built drone platforms” and “customer credibility across national-security and critical-infrastructure markets.

Grand View Research sizes the U.S. drone market near $29.3Bn in 2025, with a potential path to about $58.5Bn by 2033.

7 Potential Catalysts Putting (Nasdaq: MOBX) On Our Watchlist

#1. Signed Rare Earths Agreement Reaches Upstream Of The Supply Chain. Special Project Delivery will bring critical minerals positions, energy projects and Western U.S. water resilience work to MOBX, with closing targeted before year-end.

#2. A U.S.-Built Drone Platform With Air Force And Navy Customers. Vision Aerial, under a definitive agreement valued near $15Mn, already ships NDAA-compliant aircraft to the U.S. Air Force, Navy and utilities, a customer list MOBX has not previously carried.

#3. Guided Fiscal Q4 Revenue Points To Roughly 100% Sequential Growth. Management guided fourth-quarter revenue to $1.4Mn to $1.8Mn, and MOBX credited defense, aerospace and security demand across its EMI Solutions and RaGE Systems divisions.

#4. Public Float Under 15Mn Shares Signals Potential For Volatility. Yahoo Finance lists a float near 14.59Mn shares, and a float that thin means the potential for heightened volatility for MOBX may be significant.

#5. Hardware Already Flying Inside The F-22 Raptor. Two subcontractors raised filtered-connector orders roughly 5X this spring, placing MOBX content inside an active air-superiority platform rather than a paper program.

#6. TSA Scanner Program Has Now Passed The $6Mn Mark. A $3.2Mn April order for airport body-scanner components lifted total program activity above $6Mn for MOBX, with shipments scheduled through December 31, 2026.

#7. Russell Microcap Index Addition Widens The Following. Index inclusion took effect June 29th, 2026, and this could add new visibility to MOBX.

Final Thoughts

Ninety days is a short window to sign two definitive agreements, propose a new corporate name and guide to roughly 100% sequential growth.

That is what makes Mobix Labs, Inc. (Nasdaq: MOBX) worth a read now.

It is attempting something testable: moving from selling components into national security programs toward owning pieces of what those programs run on.

We’re kicking-off coverage on Mobix Labs, Inc. (Nasdaq: MOBX).

Stay tuned for updates coming out soon. Talk again shortly.

All the best,
